Heeta was a three-year mainstay on the varsity roster. This year she played third singles and had to make a tough transition from playing dou bles the last two varsity years to singles. She was last year's recipient of the team's Coach's Award. She will be remembered most for a hard fought win against Purnell this year. She had lost the first set 1-6 but then regained stamina to take the second set 7-5. Due to darkness the two agressors had to play a match tie breaker. She won the tie-breaker 7-4 for the win.
Lara Selesner
Barbara was nothing shy o f spectacu lar. The Beacon recognized her this year as the female athlete of the fall. This season she completed a three- year reign at the number one position. A four-year varsity member, she played 3rd singles as a freshman. Her personal head-to-head record this year was 7-2 and she has had a winning record in all four years! Every year she placed high in the state tournament. She was adorned with distinctions. As a sophomore AHD as a senior she was team MVP and as ajunior she was given the Coach's Award. Her strong tennis ability will be sorely missed as she plans to continue her career in college.

Christine Co-Captained the team this, the second year of her varsity play. She teamed with her younger sister Carmelyn and won 3rd place in both the Conference and State tournaments. They both shared the team's Coach's Award this season and were seeded high in tournament play. She will be remembered most for her benevolent willingness to help the younger players.
The Cinderella story came to W-H in the form of two gutsy doubles part ners. Lara Selesner, a Co-Captain, and Dana Willis upset the seeds to take an unexpected 3rd at the State Tourna ment. This was enough to earn her a share of the team's Most Improved Award with Dana. Says Coach Keich, “ Lara is one of the most enthusiastic tennis players that I have coached for some time."
