 UnDERCLASSNEfi POWER CROSS COUnTRY
The cross country team coached by Joseph Procopio finished the 1989 campaign with a 2-6 record. Leading the Rams was freshman sensation Dan Cone who should prove to be a domi
nant force in the next few years, fie garnered his first varsity victory in the Ram's only home meet against Staten Island. Me ran from start to finish in a time of 21:50. Sophomore Dave Resnick was second in scoring on the team, another sophomore, Ross Blacker was third and freshman Robert Church was fourth. The lone girl on the squad was a determined freshman named Bridget Farrell. The highlight of her season came at Morristown - Beard where she placed eighth with a time of 28:28 in the Prep B championships. Completing the '89 roster is yet an other freshman Jamie Rock. Junior Wesley Lin was manager for the team
and was very useful at keeping statis tics and handling bulletin board tasks. Although the team was very young, they learned a great deal about tough competition and pulling for wins. Pro vided they keep a healthy roster, they should give the Rams future success. According to Coach Procopio the fu ture looks good. "This year we rebuilt and we now have a solid nucleus for next year's team and beyond. 1hope to get more runners like these."
