Under a continuing services contract with the City of Co-
conut Creek for urban planning and landscape architec-
ture, WGI created the park design for the City’s largest
and most utilized park, Sabal Pines Park. This 54-acre
park features active and passive recreational areas in-
cluding nine athletic elds surrounded by protected
cypress wetlands. The park also includes a nature pre-
serve with walking trails that take advantage of the ex-
isting wetlands. The layout of the boardwalks and trails
were designed to maximize scenic vistas through the
preserve. The park also contains numerous other des-
tination points, including butter y gardens, playgrounds,
pavilions, a dog park, and restroom facilities. WGI provid-
ed the site plan design, landscape and irrigation design, site amenity plans, engineering plans, all bid documents, and construction management services.
