Understanding of Scope
We understand that the City is focused on redeveloping Clearwater’s down- town waterfront and that the Imagine Clearwater project can be a catalyst for increasing activity and investment in the area. To accomplish this goal, we have to ‘THINK BIG’ and truly identify a transformative vision for the down- town waterfront. This includes the design, program and elements of the newly created park, as well as how the design and elements connect and a ect the entire downtown area. This includes the e ects on the regional and local economy, the adjacent site
context, and the pedestrian and vehicular connections to the rest of downtown. The selected consultant must be able to build on the great work already completed in the Imagine Clearwater Master Plan. This is the service that excites WGI sta and that we truly specialize in, being able to identify and understand the big picture and hone that down into a successful proj- ect that ultimately meets the goals and needs of the City.
The 19 acres of the Imagine
Clearwater project include a
wide variety of park elements. The Master Plan will require re nement to en- sure all of these elements function cohesively and the spaces are optimized for the programmed activities. Re ning the Imagine Clearwater Master Plan, developing the nal master plan into construction documents, and oversee-
ing the project through construction will require multiple disciplines, including: planning, landscape architecture, civil/structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, drainage engineering, architecture, environmental and permitting, construction engineering inspection, and public involvement. Real- izing the full vision of the nal master plan will require phasing the construction and may even require grant or funding assistance. Our construction engineer- ing inspection professionals will work with the City’s sta to ensure the con- struction methodology works with the City’s funding. WGI also has extensive experience in assisting numerous municipalities in obtaining grant assistance,
if required by the City.
To ensure all opportunities and constraints are identi ed early on and that the project schedule stays on track, the majority of these disciplines will need to provide input from the notice to proceed. This is where WGI’s strengths come into e ect. The nature of our rm’s multidisciplinary struc- ture lends itself to easy co- ordination from the projects inception through construc- tion, particularly because the majority of these services are inhouse.
Following, you will nd a sam- pling of our teams’ work that is comparable in both size and scope to the Imagine Clearwater project. We’ve included each project’s reference contact information and encourage the City to contact them to inquire on the quality
of our provided services.
