                                               Considerations



                              Home care situations can exist where
                              patient’s incontinence cannot be
                              managed by caregiver
                              Catheter size should be the smallest size
                              to provide adequate drainage of urine
                              Catheter size is measured in French (1
                              French = 1/3 of 1 mm).
                              Adult catheters are usually 14 - 18   Specific orders are required for
                              French but range from 12f (small) to 48f   specialty catheters (e.g.,
