Sending Secure Email from VNSNY

               Why is VNSNY securing email?
                  Protecting the privacy and security of employee and patient information  has always been an
                  important priority at VNSNY. As part of this ongoing commitment, VNSNY  has strengthened  its
                  controls around the communication  of sensitive data when  it is being sent via email. VNSNY's
                  Secure Email Program allows us to send you encrypted email communications  with greater
                  confidence that our confidential,  proprietary  and sensitive  information is protected from
                  unauthorized viewing or malicious intervention.


               What does encryption mean?

                   Encryption is technology  used to  protect email messages or other information from being read by
                  anyone other than the intended recipient.


               Sending Encrypted Email Messages

                       1.  Open a new message and address the recipient in the To: field.
                       2.  In the subject line, type in the words  ENCRYPTME (must be one word,  uppercase) or SEND
                          SECURE (must be two words,  uppercase) into the subject line, in addition to your desired
                          subject.
                      3.  Attach any files you wish to include.
                       4.  Click Send.
