Nurse Indah : I heard the ward matron had submitted the hygiene report this morning. How is it?
Nurse Tami : It’s not that good. I guess we (1) ___________________ pay more attention to our ward

                                hygiene.
Nurse Indah : Is it that bad? Do you mind sharing some more details of the report?
Nurse Tami : First, as the hospital hygiene regulation, apart from the regular cleaning schedule, we (2)

resource shortage, we sometimes take more time.

Secondly, it is about the nurse awareness on hygiene. Although everyone is well aware that
they (3) ___________________ put on gloves before making contact with patient, some don’t
disinfect their hands before putting them on.
Nurse Indah : Owh, dear. We (4) ___________________ socialize this to all of them once again.
Nurse Tami : Yes, I think so. This is so important. The matron also told me that it is our responsibility to
promote the awareness. We (5) ___________________ bring out the issue to them.
Nurse Indah : Yes, yes. Let’s set the schedule for that. I (6___________________ check our agendas first

                                to set the date.
Nurse Tami : Let me know when you have set the date.
Nurse Indah : I will, right away.

                                               Cleaning and Ward Information

Ensuring that our wards and departments are clean is vital to preventing the spread of infections. Every area has
a matron who is a very senior nurse who, together with ward managers, liaises closely with the cleaning
services team to keep high standards of cleanliness. All patient areas have at least one member of domestic staff
who perform routine cleaning duties on a daily basis, and a rolling programme of other cleaning tasks. We also

                                              review our cleaning schedules regularly.
