Some facts that are rarely known about

Sheikh Zayed are, that he was married

seven times and has a total of 30 children,

who include HH Khalifa bin Zayed (Ruler of

Abu Dhabi), HH Sultan bin Zayed (Former

Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE) and HH

Mohammed bin Zayed (the Crown Prince

of Abu Dhabi).

Besides that, in 1946 he became the

governor of the Eastern Region Abu Dhabi.

This area was considered to be very poor

and spread by various diseases, which very

quickly began to change into a well

developed area after his rule.

Sheikh Zayed got appointed several times

as the president of the UAE in the years of

1971, 1976, 1981, 1986 and 1991.
