Around this time Neruda and his
Dutch wife divorced, and Neruda
moved to France.
In the early 1940s Neruda worked
as Consul General in Mexico City
and married an Argentine lady
named Delia del Carril. He returned
to Chile in 1943, and later toured
Peru, whose incredible ancient ruins
inspired more great poetic works
with heavy political leanings.
