P. 11
Rapunzel grew very beautiful
beneath the shining sun and bright
moon. When she turned twelve, the
enchantress locked her inside a tower,
which was in the middle of a forest.
There were no doors or stairs in the
tower, but a little window at the top.
Whenever the enchantress wanted to
go in, she called Rapunzel’s name and
Rapunzel would unfasten her braids
and tie it onto one of the hooks, and
then let her hair fall down the tower
and let the enchantress climb it up.
