 and went their separate ways.
    Later that night, after Mizzie had
 served Mr. Chardley his dinner, she
 went to her room. She noticed one
 of  her dresses needed to be repaired,
 so she sat by the window with her
 needle and thread and sang softly to
 herself. By the time she had finished
 fixing her dress, she knew it was late
 and that she had to get some sleep.
 She was about to blow out her little
 candle when she heard a gentle tap
 on her window. She looked outside
