Chapter 1: Pre-Columbian era
The first settlers to be known in
Guatemala date back to 6500 BC.
These settlers were from the Paleo-
Indian period, which consisted of
hunters and gatherers. They used to
move from one place to another place
to survive. Entire tribes in search
of water and food had to move
altogether. If they had not done
this, they would have starved, and
