Using this rubber band prototype, one

could trace an uninterrupted line and

reach the same starting point.

Upon investigation of the rubber band, it

would become evident that the pen had

traversed both sides of the band.

However, if you marked one edge of the

elastic band as a starting point, and then

proceeded to run your finger along the

edge of band, your finger would not

return to the same point of origin.

Rather, your finger would end up on the

opposite side of the rubber band.
