The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC) was established in 1988 by
the World Meteorological Organization
(WMO) and United Nations Environment
Program (UNEP).
It is a preeminent source of scientific,
technical, and socioeconomic
information related to climate change.
IPCC reports play an integral role in
international climate change negotiations.
Every five years the IPCC produces
assessment reports.
Ad hoc special reports and technical
papers are also generated upon request.
