Despite the politically charged nature of
climate change, the IPCC refrains from
offering policy prescriptions, or solutions.
Rather, the IPCC assesses policy-relevant
information gathered from peer-
reviewed scientific and technical
literature, which it incorporates into a
report.
The information contained in these
reports, and any subsequent action, is
left to the discretion of relevant
governments.
Furthermore, the IPCC does not
undertake any new research and does
not actively monitor climate-related data.
