         long ‘bull market’, and perhaps a




         market correction was overdue.




         We now know that when stock




         markets inflate dramatically, they




         are likely to gap back almost




         as quickly. However, on Black





 Black Thursday, October 24,   Thursday it took everybody by




 1929 – it was a prelude to the   surprise. The stock market had




 Great Depression. Until then   shed 11% of  its value by the time




 stock  markets  were  strong,   the closing bell rang.
