The disappointed witch looked to the



 solider and told him that it’ll take




 another day and that she would let



 him rest one more night under one



 condition; he must chop a load of




 wood, and chop it small. The soldier



 spent the whole day in doing it, and



 in the evening the witch proposed




 that he should stay one night more.



 The witch gave him a very simple




 task to complete this time. “For



 behind my house, there is an old dry




 well” said the witch. “Into which my



 light has fallen, it burns blue, and
