Once his country was safe, Arthur

took a beautiful wife, Guinevere.

Merlin was against Arthur marrying

Guinevere, but Arthur did not heed his

advice.

So, late one day, Merlin took the king

to a magical lake, thick with mist.

Suddenly, a young and beautiful

woman rose from the depths of the

water, holding a magnificent, magical

sword.

This sword was called Excalibur. Merlin

gave it to Arthur for protection. No

one could die of their wounds while

they held Excalibur.
