the New York Yankees competed for
the first time in the World Series in
the following year. They won eight
out of eleven world series games. A
famous player, known as Babe Ruth,
hit 60 home runs in a single season.
Baseball fans wanted to watch the
games more after the marvelous
games the New York Yankees had
played.
Baseball has not been famous for
all the time. During the Great
Depression, there were only two
teams in the Major League Baseball
