Baseball became more famous in the
1920s and 1930s. In the season of
1920, Ray Chapman, a player from
the Cleveland Indians, had died
during a game. A ball was thrown to
hit, but it hit his head instead of the
bat. He died after being unconscious
for a couple of hours. It was the
first time in baseball history that a
player had died inside a field. After
this tragic event, balls were changed
