Chapter 1: The Start of the

Revolutionary War

Before the outbreak of the

American Revolution in 1775, there

were heating arguments between the

British and the American settlers.

The British would harass the settles

by raising taxes which had upset

the colonist. They had demanded

equal rights as other British citizens

because they were originally from

there. Many battles and protest
