            against the British. This meeting was



            the first Continental Congress that



            went to go against the British crown




            and demand independence, they



            denounced the phrase no taxation



            without representation, as well as




            the maintenance of  the British army



            in the Americas without the consent




            and issued a declaration of  the rights



            due every citizen including the right




            to life, liberty, property assembly



            and the rights to a trial by jury. The
