Brothers and sisters in Islam,
How do we perform dhikr? The best dhikr is reading Qur’an
with understanding the meaning. We can read Quran everyday, after
obligatory prayer. Daily recitation of Holy Quran brings great
rewards from Allah Almighty. The habit of reading Quran everyday
will keep our heart in peaceful condition.
We can also perform dhikr by uttering specified Adhkar after
prayer five times a day. The Prophet Muhammad said, “He who
recites after every prayer: Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from
imperfection) 33 times; Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) 33 times;
Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest) 33; and completes the hundred with:

hamdu, wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shai’in Qadir (there is no true god except
Allah. He is One and He has no partner with Him. His is the
sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent), will have all
his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the
surface of the sea.” (Muslim)

Why must we perform dhikr everyday? By praising and
glorifying Allah Almighty we are showing our gratitude to Him and
recognizing His nobility. We are accepting that we have no power
without Him, as He has power over all things. It is only with the help
and will of Allah (SWT) that we can achieve things in our lives.
By performing dhikr regularly in our day we will find that we
feel more connected to Allah , which is a great feeling. The act of
dhikr has an instant calming feeling over our mind and body, and
removes negative thinking from our mind. The more we practice
