teaches us how to control our desire for food and drink. It teaches us
how to talk good things only and how to prevent ourselves from
insulting others. Fasting teaches us how to feel the need of those who
are suffering from starvation. It also teaches us how to appreciate the
gifts of Allah and His overwhelming blessings.
Fasting that done well will be able to refine our souls. From the
ritual of fasting we can feel the sufferings of the poor and the needy.
And on top of that, we can control over our desires. By doing fasting,
obligatory fasting Ramadhan or optional sunnah fasting, we can get
closer to Allah and at the end, the best fruit of fasting is to increase in
our taqwa.
Dear brothers and sisters,
We know that taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is the best
provision. Taqwa is the foundation of wisdom and the basis of every
kinds of success and happiness. Those who have Taqwa, Allah
(SWT) will provide for them by blessing them with worldly gifts and
protections, as well as a way out from anxieties and difficulties by
His (SWT) mercy. Allah Almighty says :

نمو بِستي ل ثيح نِم هقزريو . اجرمَ له لعيَ للها قتي نمو

ْ َ ْ َ ِّ ذ َ َ َ ْ َ ْ َ َ ذ ذ ْ َ َ َ ذ َ َ ْ ذ َ َ َ
اردق ء ش كِل للها لعج دق ِِرمأ غِلاب للها نِإ هبسح وهف ِللها على كَّوتي

“And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out. And will
provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies
upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will
accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a
[decreed] extent.” (Quran 65:2-3)
