5.4.6. Air Quality Monitoring Toolkit [Chennai]

C-DAC has developed Indoor Air Quality Monitoring Toolkit - a wireless solution for
indoor air quality monitoring for estimating and visualization of the pollution indices
at various locations of a city.

The toolkit measures environmental parameters like temperature, humidity, gaseous
pollutants, aerosol/Particulate Matter to determine the environmental health of an
indoor space.

The tool estimates the Air Quality Index (AQI) which in turn can be used as input for
controlling HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system in a smart
building. This toolkit allows users to view in real time, the air quality data of regions
where the sensors are deployed in a building in the form of numbers and graphs.
