Racking seizing
This method is particularly suited to seizing
wire, where the repeated figure-eight turns prevent
any slippage. Tied in rope, it can make a trusty loop
that is every bit as secure as a splice. Unlike splices,
seizings have the advantage that they can be
quickly untied or cut loose if the line is needed in its
original form.
1 Tie the end of the seizing line to one part using a running bowline or
similar.
