Girth hitch
Often confused with the cow hitch, the girth hitch
looks exactly the same but is tied in a very different
way, on the bight. It’s commonly used in paracord
and macramé, usually described as a ‘cow hitch’.
1 Put a bight in the line and pass it through the loop or around the pole. It
doesn’t matter which way you go, though the two sides of the finished
knot look quite different.
