Kite pigtails
There are all kinds of clever knots you could use
to tie a line to a kite, but the system used by serious
kite flyers is admirably simple. It also has the
advantage of being easy to untie if you want to use
the line on a different kite.
1 This is your secret weapon: a pigtail. Simply tie a figure-eight in a 12in
(30.5cm) length of string to make a loop.
2 Attach the pigtail to the kite using a girth hitch.
