Strangle knot
An alternative to the constrictor knot, the
strangle knot is less versatile but preferred by some
because it lies flatter once tightened. Use it to bind
the end of a piece of rope to prevent it fraying, or for
tying off the neck of a sack – as was originally
intended.
1 Take a turn around the object to be seized and pass the working end
diagonally over the standing part.
