               Going up a rope 2: The Distel hitch




               Another knot for climbing rocks or trees is the


               Distel  hitch.  It’s  a  bit  more  complicated  than  the
               Prusik hitch and, frankly, not so handy. It’s less likely


               to  seize,  but  more  likely  to  twist  out  of  shape.  Try
               both and see which you like better.

































                  1  Tie a loop on each end of the lanyard (we used a double fisherman’s



                        knot, and attach it onto the climbing rope with a clove hitch.
