Going down a rope

Another serious mountaineering knot that can

be used for some amateur rock climbing is the
Munter hitch. It’s a deceptively simple knot that,

unless you get absolutely right, won’t work at all. But
when it does work, it’s like magic!

1 Pass the climbing rope through the carabiner. Twist the rope above the

carabiner into a loop.
