Guy rope tensioner
Most tents come with an array of plastic ‘runners’
to help you tighten the guy ropes – but what
happens if you lose one, or if you want to put up a
homemade tent or awning? This tensioner, known as
the tautline hitch, has a wide variety of uses,
including tying a clothes hanger.
1 Make a loop in the end of the line, and then take two turns around the
standing part inside the loop.
