We all have our favourite ways of tying knots

and, after 40 years of tying bowlines, I have to admit
I’d thought I’d seen it all. So, it was a pleasant

surprise to find a new method that’s not only neat
and clever but fast too.

1 Make an overhand loop, with the working end on top of the standing
