Whether you’re reading Moby Dick, Harry Potter
or A Knot a Day, a bookmark saves you having to
crease the pages. And what better than a rope
bookmark tied using the incredibly versatile carrick
bend? We used ⅛in (0.4cm) paracord, but a cotton
rope might be prettier.
1 Put a bight the middle of an 8ft (2.4m) length of line. Put an overhand
loop in the left leg and pass the right leg over it.
