Jamming bend
Occasionally, you might want to attach a line to
the bight of another line using a proper bend, rather
than just a hitch-bend. That might sound impossible,
as most bends are formed using the ends of both
lines. The jamming bend gets around that problem
with a rather ingenious twist – quite literally!
1 Take two turns with the working end of one line around the bight of the
other line.
