               Stevedore knot




               Stevedores were the men who unloaded the cargo


               from ships after they came into port. They used this
               knot  in  preference  to  other  stopper  knots  as  it  is


               bulkier and easier to untie.



























                  1  Put a bight in the end of the line and take a turn around the standing


                                              part with the working end.
