Cleat hitch

The cleat hitch is perfect for tying a boat to a

dock as it’s so quick and easy, yet many sailors still
tie it incorrectly. Thankfully, it’s a very forgiving

knot, as so few of these incorrectly tied knots
actually come undone or cause any damage.

1 Take a turn around the cleat, starting at the end furthest away from

you.
