The crystallization point
is at 18.5°C. Storage at room temperature is therefore recommended.
Should DMSO crystallise, it can be thawed again without any loss of
quality. This is not a defect, but merely reflects the high purity of the
product.
Simply leave it at room temperature for a few hours or carefully warm
it up in a water bath.
In order to guarantee the shelf life, it is recommended to store it
permanently at 20°C - 25°C after receipt.
DMSO was discovered in 1866, but was not applied to
humans until the early 1960s.
In 1965 the American FDA imposed an immediate ban
on its sale.
In 1973 it was approved for human medicine again in
Switzerland and in 1978 in Germany.
