Chamber Leadership OFFICERS
Chairman
LOOKING FORWARD
As I step into the role of 2019 Board Chairman, I want to thank each of you in advance
for all the things I know will be done to make this year successful. I am excited about the op-
portunities this year will bring and look forward to working with each of you as we seek to con-
tinue the great work of the Chamber in our community. I appreciate everything that Shalonda
Dawkins did to make 2018 a success and I look forward to working with her in 2019. Volunteers
such as Ms. Dawkins serve to strengthen our Chamber and make the North Channel Area a
great place to live and work.
The Economic Development Division will once again work in conjunction with the
Chamber Foundation Board to encourage economic development in the area as well as ensuring
the transportation issues that affect the area are properly addressed. This division will nurture
our partnership with the Economic Alliance of the Houston Port Region. This division will also Dr. John Moore
will be responsible for working with area education entities to continue the educational empha-
sis that we believe is so important to the future of our chamber member businesses. We will Galena Park ISD
continue to recognize our Students and Teachers of the Month, as we work toward developing Chairman-Elect

The Membership Division will seek to continue membership growth by conveying the
importance of membership to non-members. This division will also place an emphasis on re- Sheldon ISD
taining existing members.
The Member Services Division will continue to promote business relationships in the 1st Chairman-Elect
community and seek ways to provide returns on membership investments through the Cham- Dr. Allatia Harris
ber Ambassadors, mixers, and monthly luncheon programs.
The Special Events Division will be responsible for the Annual Golf Tournament, the San Jacinto College
North Channel Salutes and the Annual Gala. The goal of Special Events is to provide enhanced Treasurer
networking opportunities and entertaining Chamber activities. We are excited to announce that Mike Williams
our 2019 Annual Golf tournament will be held at Tour 18 on May 6th.
The Government Affairs division will continue to address the issues that directly relate Edward Jones
