               North Channel has much to offer business and industry, as well as to residents. Within it’s approximately
        158 square miles, over 200,000 of the greater Houston area’s three million plus residents live. Continued growth
        is projected for the next five years and beyond. The area offers a suburban setting where major industry, com-
        mercial concerns, retail establishments and bedroom communities flourish. Due to its close proximity to the
        Port of Houston and the exceptional rail, highway, water and air transportation, the area offers business a smooth
        connection to local, regional and international markets.


               Businesses range from manufacturing firms, chemical processing and refining entities, specialty valve
        manufacturers, major health care facilities, small business concerns and major retail operations. Plentiful labor
        in all skill levels and specialties is available. Pro-business governments and a supportive population enhance
        business growth.

               The Chamber boundaries include land available for industrial and commercial development. Many sites
        are in unincorporated areas and offer lower tax rates. Within city limits, business-friendly governments seek to
        work with existing business and industry, and to provide an atmosphere to encourage new business start-ups or
        relocations. Families find housing in every price range and quality schools staffed by competent, caring profession-
        al educators. Entertainment opportunities include excellent dining, 2 multiplex cinemas, an 18-hole golf courses,
        parks and water sports. Excellent facilities and leagues exist for youth sports including soccer, football, baseball,
        softball and basketball. The 230-acre Gene Green Park boasts an amphitheater, ball courts and fields, BMX bike
        trail and Skate Park.A quality YMCA program also serves the area. Harris County Precinct 2 provides the area
        with community centers that offer a wide range of events for youth, senior citizens and residents. The North Shore
        Rotary Pavilion offers an open-air, covered facility for up to 5,000. The North Channel area is truly A Great Place
