Casa da Pólvora
The name Casa da Pólvora translates to
House of Gunpowder was built by the
Captain-General, govenor Fernando de
Barros and Vasconcelos. Construction began
on August 10, 1704 and was completed in
1710. It is a symbol of Portuguese
colonization in Brazil.
Parque Sólon de Lucena (Lagoa)
It has been one of the city’s most notable
landmarks since opening in 1922 and sits on 15
hectares.
