INTERVIEW OF BILL CORWIN Reported by: Bobby Krause
Bill excused himself from the meeting.
In discussion, the committee recognized Bill’s excellent leadership as Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee. He is a tremendous resource as a Grant Program Committee member. He is prepared, thoughtful, articulate and efficient in his contributions to discussion. Bobby shared his appreciation for the support Bill has shown him through grantee leads and matters of professional reference. Bill has a genuine reverence for governance and JSF has benefited from his leadership.
Bill returned to the meeting.
In discussion with the GNC, Bill shared that his experience as a JSF Director had been extremely rewarding. He is deeply and personally committed to the JSF mission. Having been on the grantee side of partnerships for much of his career, Bill is able to offer JSF insight and perspective from the grantee’s view.
Bill expressed interest in participating in site visits, particularly those centered on Indigenous programing. He is also interested in attending the 2023 conference held by Center for Effective Philanthropy. He offered assistance to reviewing the JSF application process and suggested requesting a copy of strategic plans from potential grantees. Finally, Bill expressed gratitude for how JSF “truly makes an effort to be a partner to the Grantees”.
Bill was excused from the meeting.
The GNC collectively acknowledged Bill’s tremendous contribution to JSF as a Director and through the committees he serves. Consequently, the GNC unanimously voted to recommend to the Board, that Bill Corwin be renewed as a Director for a period of three years.
