TAKE STOCK/JOHNSON SCHOLARS YEAR-END REPORT (4)
College Tours
Forest Hill High School celebrating their custodians
This year’s college tours provided scholars the opportunity to visit University of South Florida (USF), Florida Polytechnic University (FPU), University of Central Florida UCF), Florida International University (FIU), and Florida Atlantic University (FAU). These campus tours allowed the scholars to witness college life up close and personal. In November, UCF, FIU, and FAU celebrated First-Generation Day by informing our scholars of the First Generation College Student resources available should they attend these schools.

TSICJS Welcomes Royal Palm Community High School
On May 9, 2023, TSICJS welcomed its twelfth club school, Royal Palm Beach High School. RPBHS will increase program enrollment and experience the Johnson Scholars College and Career Readiness
Clubs. As a Title I school with a total population of 2371 students, 76% are identified as free or reduced lunch eligible. The administration and staff at RPBHS have been highly supportive of TSICJS and have assured continued support as they grow the program’s opportunities for students on the campus. Misty Lingerfelt, Assistant Principal at RPBHS, is eagerly at work on a recruitment plan as our programming prepares to support her efforts.
