Celebrating Rick Williams’s Retirement
Iwas invited to be a consultant for the Johnson Scholarship Foundation over eight years ago. At the time, Malcolm Macleod was the president, and I had
completed two endowments at the American Indian College Fund, funded partially through the Johnson Scholarship Foundation. I knew their work well and was delighted to be able to join a team of professional people who were making a difference in Indian Country. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. The Foundation’s work is unique in philanthropy, and they believe in transferring wealth into the communities for permanent programs. Their endowment program is second to none in the country and has provided thousands of scholarships for American Indian students throughout the United States. When Bobby Krause became the CEO of JSF, we bonded quickly and worked diligently to ensure that the work in our communities was never interrupted. It was an honor to be a part of such a wonderful organization.
