TAKE STOCK/JOHNSON SCHOLARS REPORT (13)
 JOHNSON SCHOLARS PROGRAM BUDGET REVIEW
An increase to School Coordinators’ stipends took place this year from $1500 to $2000 as an effort to compensate coordinators for growth of their school-based expectations with their TSICJS Scholar Communities (Club Schools). Extra duty days were allotted to Phara Lissade-Latour, Johnson Scholars Program Resource Teacher, allowing her to continue providing program services throughout the summer. Programming funds were used to support student incentives and TSICJS Workshops. College and test prep fees covered college app fees, seat fees, ACT, SAT, and CLT test fees. One AmeriCorps was procured from the Literacy Coalition for FY24, along with a payment of the final balance from FY23’s AmeriCorps. Students attended a college tour where they explored Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) and Florida State University (FSU), and they were exposed to an immersive STEM trip experience. Each of our Scholar Communities developed and implemented service projects and First-Gen events on their campuses. This year’s Summer Internship saw an increase of 5 interns in comparison to FY23. FY23 Summer Internship was taken from this year’s budget and FY24 Summer Internship will be paid at the completion of the internship in FY25.
