FLORIDA PHILANTHROPIC NETWORK SUMMIT
Florida Philanthropic Network Summit
Malcolm Macleod, the Johnson Scholarship Foundation Board Chair, was selected to present at this year’s 2024 Florida Philanthropic Network Summit, entitled “Funders as Force Multipliers.” He chose to highlight the success of TSICJS and the efforts involved in developing, implementing, and maintaining this unique collaborative model. Lady Hereford, the Johnson Scholarship Foundation Program Specialist, and Gbolade George, the Johnson Scholars Program Instructional Specialist, both assisted Malcolm in presenting on the topic, Partnerships that Make the Grade-Scholarships, Academic Support, & Mentoring for Underserved Students.
FLORIDA COLLEGE ACCESS NETWORK
Once again, the TSICJS team attended FCAN’s College Summit leaving us inspired to continue impacting our scholars. The energy was dynamic and innovation was demonstrated in every session and by every speaker. Keynote speakers were Braulio Colon, Executive Director of FCAN, Dr. Kathleen Plinske, President of Valencia College, Nicole Sealy, Award-Winning poet and author, and Maurice Allen, Three-Time World Long Drive Champion. Allen’s story was remarkable as he spoke about his journey from homelessness to becoming a world champion.
