Maurice “Moe” Baker
Maurice Baker is Manager of Community Relations at Georgia Natural Gas, Geor-
gia’s leading natural gas provider. During his 18 years at the company, Maurice
helped to develop the company’s nationally recognized community relations
department with a focus on corporate volunteerism and charitable giving. Active
in civic life, he is a past president of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta,
serves on the boards of the Arthur Blank Family YMCA, Centennial Academy,
Atlanta Partners for Education, and A.G. Rhodes Health & Rehab.
Maurice founded the company’s signature TrueBlue Community Awards which

Georgia Natural Gas
Maurice is a graduate of Boston University in Boston, MA. He completed the
Atlanta Regional Commission’s Regional Leadership Institute in 2011. Maurice is
a member of several professional member organizations, including the American
Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) where he chairs the fundraising commit-
tee. He is also chair of the Southern Gas Association’s corporate services com-
mittee. He has presented on topics related to corporate citizenship at numerous
conferences and universities throughout the country.
Atlanta Magazine has named him one of the top 500 most powerful Atlantans
two years in a row and this year and the Atlanta Business Chronicle named
him a top practitioner in Corporate Citizenship. An avid traveler, he has travelled
extensively through every continent except Antarctica.
