Human Performance
This is the primary reason why we never dive deeper than 40 meters.
Nitrogen poisoning can also occur when flying at altitude due to the lower
amount of oxygen here.
Nitrogen poisoning can be dangerous because it can impair the pilot's cognitive
and physical functions, which can lead to misjudgments, slower reaction times
and poorer decision-making.
2.6.6.8 Blood donor
Pilots are usually advised against being blood donors.
With your donation, you give away a certain amount of red blood cells.
Normally, this does not matter in everyday life, but as you move up in altitude,
where the pressure is lower, your sensitivity to oxygen deficiency increases.
This causes, for example, a deterioration in the ability to see in the dark.
2.6.6.9 Surgery and open wounds
People who have recently had surgery or have open lesions should not be
exposed to flying, as the pressure may be too much of a strain.
