                6.11.2.2     Emergency landing on water


                If you have to make an emergency landing on water, do so in winter when the

                water is "solid" and can support the landing.



































                Otherwise, carefully examine the illustration above.




                It is, of course, best to land into the wind. This way, you land with the lowest

                ground speed (it is also called that over water).





                The worst landing is across the waves and into the leading edge — avoid it!

                If the aircraft has retractable landing gear, leave it up. The aircraft should land
                with the nose raised.





                After landing

                After landing on water, it may be difficult to open the door, so you may have to

                wait until the cabin is almost full of water.
