Meteorology

                3.11.2 Meteorologist's tools

Meteorologists today have a wide range of modern tools at their disposal for

                generating weather data and forecasts.

Data from satellites and weather radars is combined with observations from

meteorological stations to form the basis for the drawn forecast charts.

Current weather is indicated with the help of pilot reports about weather

conditions (AIREPs - Aircraft Reports – reports about actual weather conditions
                during flight).

At larger airports, there is a weather service where you can get personal advice
                from a meteorologist.

At smaller airports, weather information can be obtained during working hours

                from the airport manager.
